Empowering Sustainable Change

Make Your Place - Transforming Communities Through Collaboration

At Make Your Place, we believe in the power of collaboration and education to drive sustainable change. Join us in creating a brighter future for Southampton and Hampshire.

The programme is a collaboration between Southampton Business School, the Future Towns Innovation Hub, the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences and the Sustainability and Resilience Institute. We work with partners in local and regional organisations, businesses, education providers, and the voluntary sector to help people develop creative solutions to 'make their place a better place.

About us

Sian Campbell,  is the developer and lead for Make Your Place. She is a Chartered Psychologist with a background in economic development and regeneration who has worked nationally and internationally on a range of assignments for public and private sector organisations. She brings a strong partnership focus to the programme and firmly believes that today's challenges cannot be resolved by working in silos, but require creative interdisciplinary collaboration.

Ruby Jackson has project managed the implementation of Make Your Place, providing logistic and event management expertise to ensure the successful delivery of the programme. She has an extensive background in local government and is now the Future Towns Innovation Hub co-ordinator.

Make Your Place is also supported by 12 undergraduates, postgraduates,  colleagues, and partners who have completed the Train the Trainer programme. They work as workshop leads to ensure the smooth running of  events and to support participants to generate ideas.
